Transcontinental buys L'Express

Transcontinental Media of Montreal has acquired L'Express le journal d'ici, a bi-weekly French-language newspaper published in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, QC. The paper has a circulation of approximately 20,000. "Transcontinental believes community newspapers such as L'Express are vital tools in serving communities of interest," said Serge Lemieux, general manager of the newspapers group at Transcontinental Media. "We look forward to continuing to publish a newspaper that is relevant to this community." No financial details are available. Transcontinental Media now owns 172 community publications across Canada, comprising approximately 250 million copies annually.
