Great Western Brewing readies Strike Gold promotion

Great Western Brewing of Saskatoon will begin a contest on April 28 to promote the fact that it won three gold medals at the most recent Monde Selection ceremony in Belgium. During the contest, called "Strike Gold," the brewer will give away 24 one-ounce gold medallions in specially-marked packages of its Light, Pilsner and Premium beers. "We are extremely proud of these awards because they signify that our beers are among the very best in the world," said Ron Waldman, president and CEO of Great Western Brewing. "To share our success, we wanted some lucky customers to strike gold too." The initiative, developed by St. Bernadine Mission Communications of Vancouver, will be supported by print, radio and television advertising, as well as in-store materials. Public relations are being handled by Elettra Communications, also based in Vancouver.
