Bait Car campaign begins in BC

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia has begun a new awareness campaign in support of its Bait Car program. The program is intended to reduce car theft in the Lower Mainland area. The campaign, developed by Wasserman & Partners of Vancouver, consists of graffiti-style ads in parkades and underground parking garages. The ads use the copy, "Steal a bait car, go to jail." One execution depicts a car thief being detained by a police officer and a dog. Another shows a car thief looking out between the bars of a jail cell. "The urban-influenced format of these very clear, high profile executions are designed to resonate powerfully with potential thieves, and serve as a strong deterrent in areas traditionally thought to be beyond the reach of law enforcement," said Wasserman account supervisor Sean Weller.
