Now Magazine begins first advertising campaign

Toronto-based Now Magazine will break a consumer and trade advertising campaign today, the first in the history of the publication. The consumer campaign will include billboards, street posters and transit advertising. The campaign will also make use of tear-off poster pads. According to the company, this will be the first use of this medium in Canada. The creative, which is based on the visual style of European stencil graffiti art, promotes the diverse content of the weekly magazine. The trade campaign will consist of direct mail and online materials. The campaign was developed by Smith Roberts Creative Communications in association with media agency Bang Media. "Smith Roberts and Bang Media have created a provocative and breakthrough campaign for Now Magazine that reflects the Now voice and communicates the wide range of content the magazine has to offer," said Michael Hollett, editor and publisher of Now. "We're excited to see it out there and look forward to the response from our readers and our advertisers."
