Merck Frosst Canada breaks Gardasil campaign
By Adnews Staff
Merck Frosst Canada of Toronto has begun a national campaign for Gardasil, a vaccine against certain types of human papillomavirus. The campaign will run primarily on television, with support in other media. The ads, which are aimed at young women and their parents, encourage viewers to ask their physicians about the vaccine. "Over the last few weeks, there has been heightened media attention around Gardasil," said Sheila Murphy, a Merck Frosst spokesperson. "We hope our new advertising campaign will contribute to this dialogue and encourage women to talk to their doctors. Young women have been receiving information about Gardasil from a great variety of sources and we feel the best way for them to sort out fact from fiction is to talk to their doctors."
