ConAgra readies new popcorn promotion

ConAgra Foods Canada has resumed promotion from last year for its Orville Redenbacher’s brand of popcorn. During the initiative, developed by ConAgra, Armstrong Partnership and Universal Canada, approximately 800,000 packages of popcorn will be distributed containing a DVD featuring episodes of popular television programs such as Heroes, House and Las Vegas. The “Orville TV Nights” promotion will be advertised on Global Television for three weeks when it begins on July 9. Global will also have brand exposure on the product packaging. In addition, product sampling will take place at 100 Wal-Mart stores. “Last year’s promotion was a great success and will hopefully become an Orville Redenbacher’s tradition,” said Logan Chambers, manager of the brand at ConAgra. “Orville has a chance to increase its association with the TV-watching occasion, while Universal gets to sample their shows to nearly a million TV-watchers.”
