CARLTON GROUP WALKS AWAY BIG WINNER

The Carlton Group of Richmond Hill, Ont. was the only Canadian winner this year in a competition organized by the Association of Promotion Marketing Agencies Worldwide. The Canadian agency took top prize in the promotions-low budget category with its Shell Canada Passport to Family Fun program. The promo has run for the last six years during Ottawa's Central Canada Exhibition. Shell offered a free pass to the event with a fill-up at its stations. The oil company also offered other enticements, such as a coupon offering a second pass free with the purchase of a first one. The program was promoted by public relations, a dealer launch event and point-of sale material. The Carlton Group also has offices in Ottawa and Calgary.
