MAJOR MARKET CHIEF HONORED
By Adnews Staff
Larry Lamb is a very approachable guy who has helped out a lot of people in advertising sales. This week the Advertising Club of Toronto recognized Lamb's contribution to his industry by presenting him with the ad club's Radio Award of Merit. Lamb, the president of Major Market Broadcasters, actually started his career in television ad sales, selling air time for Ontario stations in North Bay and Peterborough from 1960 to 1966. He moved to radio when he joined CKTB in St. Catherines, Ont. in 1966. He eventually ended up as a radio rep at Major Market in 1973 and subsequently rose to the president's office. Lamb is past president of the Canadian Association of Broadcast Representatives and is currently a director of the Radio Marketing Bureau and Broadcast Executives Society. He is also chair of the radio advisory committee at Canadore College in North Bay.
