ENTERTAINMENT CENTRES COMING TO CANADA

Playdium Entertainment Corp. of Toronto has teamed up with Sega GameWorks to open over 40 public entertainment centres in Canada. The centres will range in size from 12,000 to 40,000 square feet, and will house virtual reality attractions, restaurants, go-cart courses, miniature golf courses and indoor/outdoor baseball facilities. Boom Design of Toronto will create advertising and Media Experts of Montreal will handle the media buys. Temple Scott & Associates of Toronto is doing public relations. The first centre will open in the fall, and another one or two will go up next year. Forty more are scheduled to open in the next five to seven years. Sega GameWorks is a partnership between DreamWorks SKG and MCA Inc., both based in the U.S., and Sega Enterprises of Japan. The companies came together to develop public entertainment centres worldwide.
