Porter Airlines promotes first flights in Toronto

Toronto-based Porter Airlines has begun a street promotion in that city to raise awareness of its first flights today. The airline’s pilots and flight attendants, in uniform, are visiting locations in Toronto’s financial district on Porter passenger shuttle buses. During stops, they distribute branded toy airplanes, marketing materials and coupons for discounted flights. The initiative began on Oct. 19 and will continue today. “We're encouraged by the enthusiasm that our pilots and flight attendants are encountering on the street,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of the company. “Our brand promise focusing on speed, convenience, service and sophistication is quite appealing to those who fly.” Porter Airlines is a regional passenger carrier that offers short-haul trips from its base at Toronto City Centre Airport.
