Shift Networks hires Comrade for new campaign

Shift Networks of Calgary has begun a new advertising campaign to promote its voice-over-IP telephone service for small and medium-sized businesses. The campaign, called “We Need to Talk,” consists of outdoor, radio, direct, and online advertising in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria. The creative uses the theme of the break-up of a relationship. The campaign was developed by a new Calgary-based marketing agency called Comrade, founded by Thelton McMillian, formerly president of Critical Mass, and Darren Murata, who has worked on campaigns for BMW, Sony and Visa. According to agency president McMillian, the campaign “is focused on informing frustrated business customers that there is a better business phone service available. Shift has made it easy for us to tell their story in a compelling and integrated way.”
