Publicis consolidates Vancouver operations

Publicis Canada has opened a new branch called Publicis Vancouver. The agency is headed by George Crookshank, vice-president and managing director, and Bill Downie, vice-president and creative director. Both were previously partners at Saatchi & Saatchi/Drum. "This announcement is a pivotal point in our growth, which will raise the bar for our creative product and allow us to become a better and stronger force in the typically competitive Western market," said Downie. "It offers the opportunity to collaborate with strong creative teams and utilize the tremendous skills within the Publicis network, which will enhance our resources and allow us to build our clients' brands, both nationally and locally," said Crookshank. The move is a result of a decision at Publicis Groupe to consolidate all of its Vancouver operations under one banner. Publicis Groupe owns Leo Burnett Worldwide, Publicis Worldwide and Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide. It also holds a 49% stake in Fallon Worldwide and Bartle Bogle Hegarty. The group also includes ZenithOptimedia and Starcom MediaVest Group.
