Dyson appoints agencies to handle Canadian launch

UK-based vacuum cleaner company Dyson has hired Maverick Public Relations of Toronto and Massy Forget of Montreal to handle the launch of the brand in Canada. The two public relations agencies won the account in a competitive pitch process involving an unknown number of additional contenders. MBS has also been retained by Dyson to handle media planning and buying. "It's a unique opportunity to launch a brand with such a strong international identity," said Maverick president Julie Rusciolelli. "This will be one of the most significant launches of 2006." "Dyson is a rapidly growing international company and has recently achieved number one status in the US," said company president Andrew Robinson. "Launching in Canada builds on that success and provides Canadians with the best vacuum cleaner available. We are fully committed to making Dyson a success in Canada and intend to make Dyson as much a household name here, as it is in other parts of the world."
