Palm Canada holds Treo hat trick contest

Technology company Palm Canada has begun a new contest called "Hat Trick my Treo" to promote its Treo 600 smartphone. The online contest, aimed at hockey fans, is tied to three NHL games that will take place this month: Toronto versus Ottawa on Dec. 17, Calgary versus Vancouver on Dec. 23 and Calgary versus Edmonton on Dec. 31. To enter, consumers must visit <http://www.hattrickmytreo.com> before each game and predict the winning team. If they choose correctly, they will be entered into a draw for a Treo 600. One phone for each goal scored by the winning team will be given away. If any player should score three goals in a single game, the number of phones given away for that game will be tripled. In addition, one customized Treo will be given away during the contest, decorated with crystals representing the colour of the winner's chosen team. "The regional rivalry among Canada's hockey teams has become intense over the years, and we wanted to do something fun this holiday season for both hockey and technology fans alike," said Janice Keay, director of marketing at Palm Canada. The contest is being managed by SplashDot.
