Transcontinental Interweb Toronto, a newspaper printing plant owned by Transcontinental, has signed a 10-year agreement with The New York Times to print the national edition of that newspaper in Toronto. This is the first time the newspaper has had a print location outside of the U.S. According to the company, the agreement will enable The Times to extend weekday home delivery to readers in the metropolitan Toronto area and to better serve nearby U.S. markets such as Buffalo and Rochester, NY. "We are continuing to execute against our plan to increase circulation of our national edition," said Scott Heekin-Canedy, president and general manager of The New York Times. "The Times's arrangement with Transcontinental is one of several print-site expansions slated for the next two years." The paper is currently printed at 21 locations in the U.S.
