Salvation Army breaks new fundraising campaign

The Salvation Army of Toronto broke a new national advertising campaign yesterday. The four-week fundraising effort seeks to illustrate how, for some children and adults, the reality of the holiday season fails to match its idyllic image. The television and radio ads depict holiday wish lists that include items such as "I wish my Dad would stop putting needles in his arm," and "I wish my Mommy would stop punching me." The campaign was created by ACLC of Toronto. "It is not our intention to offend the public," said Graham Moore, the organization's territorial secretary for public relations and development. "Rather, we want people to know that it doesn't have to be this way. There is hope, but it requires the involvement of all of us."
