Bi-annual nature guide to debut this spring

A new publication called Canada's Nature Guide will debut in the spring of 2006. The bi-annual publication will be aimed at environmentally conscious Canadians who are active in the outdoors. The digest-sized magazine will carry lists, rankings, how-to articles, tips, maps and charts intended to encourage the enjoyment of the outdoors and the conservation of Canada's natural heritage. The 52-page publication will initially have a controlled distribution of 150,000 to the members of a number of nature associations and through Home Hardware retail outlets. "Canada's Nature Guide is an exciting new concept that fills a niche in the marketplace," said publisher Carlos Madruga. "Unlike any other publication, CNG is based on a partnership approach that involves the support and participation of several nature and environmental associations that share similar interests and concerns about conserving and celebrating nature." These partner organizations include the Canadian Forestry Association, Go for Green, Nature Canada NatureServe Canada and Wildlife Habitat Canada. These associations will also be represented on the publication's editorial advisory board and will provide input on its content.
