Telus begins Quebec holiday campaign

LXB Communication-Marketing has created a Quebec holiday season campaign for Telus promoting its residential telephone and Globetrotter Internet services. The creative, following the pattern of previous Telus advertising, makes use of a group of lemurs and the Zachary Richard song "L'arbre est dans ses feuilles." The campaign, consisting of television, cinema, radio and print advertising, began on Nov. 14. "We were looking for a melody that would express the joy, love and pleasure felt during this time of year instead of the traditional Jingle Bell type music," said Manon Deschênes, principal account manager at LXB. "Between the cute lemurs who playfully present the offer of a free digital camera and Zachary Richard's wild Cajun rhythm, we developed an advertising campaign that stands out among the usual echoing sounds heard this time of year" said Jean Bissonnette, the agency's creative director in Quebec City.
