Institute of Communications and Advertising picks new board

The Toronto-based Institute of Communications and Advertising selected a new board of directors and executive committee at its annual general meeting yesterday. Peter Shier of FCB Canada will remain chair of the institute for a second year. Jacques Duval of Marketel is the past chair. Rupert Brendon has been elected president. Andy Macaulay of Zig is the vice-chair and treasurer. Vice Chair Chris Jordan of Young & Rubicam is also vice-chair. Paula Rose is the organization's secretary. New board members include Jack Bensimon of Bensimon Byrne, Claude Carrier of Bos, Doug Conn of Wasserman & Partners, Gerry Frascione of BBDO and James Kabrajee of Marshall Fenn Communications. John Clinton of Grey Worldwide and Gary Hendrick of Hendrick & Associates have left the board. The executive committee consists of Bensimon, Brendon, Duval, Frascione, Jordan, Macaulay and Shier, along with Arthur Fleischmann of John St.
