Toronto-based financial company Mackenzie Investments has signed on as a sponsor of Film Circuit, a division of the Toronto International Film Festival Group. The Film Circuit program brings Canadian and international films to smaller communities nationally, promoting these films to audiences in cooperation with local arts organizations. At each screening, the audience will be asked to vote for a favourite film. Based on these votes, each October Film Circuit will award the most popular films the Mackenzie Investments Film Circuit People's Choice Award. In addition, one randomly-selected voter will receive $5,000 worth of Mackenzie funds.
Hotel company Hilton International has formed a long-term corporate sponsorship agreement with Formula One auto racing team McLaren Mercedes. The agreement will begin t the 2005 Belgian Grand Prix. Team McLaren Mercedes will display the Hilton logo on the lower rear wing end plate of its two race cars. "Formula One offers a global stage of unrivalled prominence with live broadcasts to hundreds of millions fans worldwide in 200 countries," said Ian Carter, CEO of Hilton International. "We believe that Team McLaren Mercedes, an acknowledged world leader in its field, is the ideal partner to support our growth strategy and keep our brand image fresh and appealing. The corporate partnership is also an opportunity for us to build commercial alliances and to offer our customers new products and packages." Hilton International has also created a free club called "Hilton Racing." Members will receive discounts at participating resorts, the opportunity to buy limited edition merchandise, access to special events and other benefits.
