Rogers Wireless, MusiquePlus conduct scavenger hunt
By Adnews Staff
Telecommunications company Rogers Wireless and specialty channel MusiquePlus conducted a one-day scavenger hunt in Quebec on Sept. 17 to promote the Pay As You Go MusiquePlus Edition cell phone. The initiative, called "Where is Roger," took place in 54 cities in that province over a 12-hour period. Forty-three "Roger" characters concealed 100,000 cardboard phones around these cities, each phone carrying an ID number. Clues to the locations of the Rogers and the phones where posted on a website at <http://www.ouestroger.com> on the day of the event. MusiquePlus hosts also provided clues during their broadcasts in the days leading up to the hunt. Participants who found a phone could submit the ID number through the same website to determine if it was a winner. Prizes included 1,000 Motorola cell phones, 8,000 compilation CD's containing music by Quebec artists, and 1,000 T-shirts.
