The Shopping Channel Direct buys Mix Promotions

Direct response television advertising company The Shopping Channel Direct has purchased Mix Promotions, a Montreal-based firm which also specializes in direct response TV, along with Internet advertising, promotions and retail distribution. No financial details are available. According to the company, the acquisition will allow The Shopping Channel Direct to expand its presence in Quebec and to provide its clients with a way to sell their products nationally in English and French. "The combined operations can offer a broader range of services for our proprietary and clients' products in French and English to consumers on television, home shopping, through the Web and our retail partners' stores," said Willard Cowan, vice-president of The Shopping Channel Direct. The staff of Mix Promotions is expected to remain in place under the leadership of Alain Campeau, the previous owner and president of the firm. Campeau has been appointed vice-president of The Shopping Channel Direct. The Shopping Channel Direct is a division of The Shopping Channel and a subsidiary of Rogers Media of Toronto.
