ABC Canada holds Family Literacy Day contest

The ABC Canada Literacy Foundation, based in Toronto, has begun a national contest to promote Family Literacy Day, which will take place on Jan. 27. The foundation uses the day to encourage parents and children to read together. Canadians can enter the contest at the organization's website at <http://www.abc-canada.org> be describing the activities they have planned for a Family Literacy Day party. The entries will be judged on the originality and creativity of the proposed activities. The winning family will be visited at this party by children's author Robert Munsch, who is the honourary chair of Family Literacy Day. The contest will run until Dec. 9.
