Sponsorship roundup

As part of its sponsorship of the Toronto International Film Festival, credit card company Visa Canada will resume the operation of a program called the Visa Screening Room at this year's event. Visa customers will be able to purchase passes to the screening room, located at the Elgin Theatre in downtown Toronto, to view premieres of a number of films at the festival. Visa Gold and Platinum customers will also receive advanced entry to the theatre and free refreshments in the Visa Premiere Lounge. "Unique moments happen on-stage with the actors and directors of the films, and many of the movies screened there have won awards and gone on to great critical and audience acclaim, and Visa cardholders have the chance to see them first," said Brenda Woods, vice-president of consumer products at Visa Canada. "We believe the unbeatable combination of the wonderful venue, the Visa Premiere Lounge, the un-scripted stage presentations and the films themselves make for the best festival experience." Visa is the exclusive credit card of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Nightlife Magazine of Montreal signed on as a sponsor of the Top Challenge, an international gravity sports competition that took place in that city over the weekend. Approximately 100 athletes competed in speedboarding, street luge, in-line skating and in-line boarding events on a 1.7km course between the Mount Royal Belvedere and Park Avenue. "The association between Nightlife Magazine and Top Challenge is natural, because we share values that reflect the lifestyle of an active generation always aware of new trends," said editor Martine Desjardins. Nightlife Magazine is a division of out-of-home advertising company Newad.
