St Joseph Media creates interactive unit

Toronto-based St Joseph Media launched a new unit yesterday called Interactive Media Services. The unit will be responsible for extending the brands of the company's magazines online and into other interactive channels. St Joseph's publications include Wish, Fashion, Wedding Bells, Toronto Life, Canadian Family, Saturday Night and Where. The unit will be lead by vice-president and general manager Kenneth Maclean. Maclean was previously a consultant to the company on business and technology matters. Kirk Simpson, previously executive director of Where.ca, has been appointed director of business development. He will lead the unit's revenue-generating initiatives, including online advertising sales. Kim Machado, formerly executive producer of the company's Style Group websites, has been appointed director of content development, responsible for content and community initiatives for all of St Joseph's online properties. "By centralizing both our online sales and site development under a single banner, we are confident we can deliver enhanced value to our readers and supporting advertisers," said Maclean.
