Best Western, YTV begin summer travel promotion

Hotel chain Best Western International has begun a promotion with specialty channel YTV to promote its loyalty program. The promotion is tied to the YTV program "The Fairly OddParents." Customers who stay at any Best Western hotel for a total of five nights between June 6 and Sept. 5 will receive a $50 "Travel Card" displaying characters from the show. The card can be redeemed at a Best Western to pay for hotel services. To be eligible for this promotion, customers must join the company's loyalty program, called the Gold Crown Club International. "The Fairly OddParents provides the perfect platform for communicating our commitment to the family vacation market," said Dorothy Dowling, senior vice president of marketing for Best Western. "We know how much kids and parents love YTV and the show." Another component of the initiative is a Web-based contest that will run from June 20 to July 4. The winner will receive a trip for four to visit a number of odd Canadian attractions. YTV will air a 30-second commercial promoting the contest for the duration of the promotion.
