Expedia.ca holds European vacation contest

Travel website Expedia.ca has begun a promotion called the "European Dream Vacation" contest. Visitors to the site enter the contest by choosing a European vacation package consisting of flight, hotel and activities options. The winner will receive $5000 to spend at the Expedia.ca site. Entrants can increase their chances of winning by directing other people to the contest. To accompany the contest, the firm commissioned a national survey of the most popular European destinations among Canadians. The survey also describes the participants' favourite types of vacations and travelling companions. Both the contest and the survey are in support of a current sale on European vacation packages. Advertising for this "Great European Vacation Sale" was created by GWP Brand Engineering. Media planning was handled by MBS. Public relations are being provided by Edelman. The campaign will run until April 29.
