New president plus three at Proximity Canada

Toronto-based Proximity Canada has hired four new staff members, including a new president and CEO in the person of Marcus Evans. Evans has previously worked at a number of UK-based agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather Direct, Carlson Marketing Group and Bates Advertising Group. Most recently he was acting CEO of Tequila Manchester. In addition, the firm has appointed Andrew Bailey interactive vice-president and Marilyn Barefoot promotions vice-president. Bailey was previously director of account management at UK-based Depend, a digital media design company. He also led interactive work at FCB Toronto on the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership account. Barefoot has spent the last eight years as president of the promotional marketing agency she founded, Square Peg. Martina Ivsak has also joined Proximity as an account director in the promotions group. She was most recently at Cossette Communication-Marketing. Proximity Canada is owned by BBDO Canada.
