Shaftebury Brewing begins TV commercial contest
By Adnews Staff
Shaftebury Brewing of Vancouver is holding a contest for residents of British Columbia. Entrants will be asked to create a 30-second television commercial for Shaftebury, the first the company will have ever used. Three winners will receive cash prizes. The first-place finisher will see their ad run on television. The brewer is operating the contest in association with daily entertainment television show "Urban Rush." The deadline for submissions is April 29. A panel of judges will choose ten finalists. These ads will be viewed at an event called The Golden Shaft Awards Gala on May 29 in Vancouver, where the winner will be announced. "Shaftebury's premium beer has been a part of British Columbia for 18 years," said Paul Meehan, the brewer's marketing director. "As faithful supporters of Shaftebury beer, who better to create an ad that represents the quality and taste of Shaftebury beer than BC consumers?" The contest is part of an overall branding campaign called the "Shaftebury Renovation Celebration." This initiative also includes new packaging and new names for some Shaftebury products.
