BEATRICE JOINS PREMIUM MILK GAME

Beatrice Foods of Toronto has entered the premium milk market. The company launched a Beatrice Plus brand in Southern Ontario last week, available in skim and 1% versions. Beatrice says the two new milks have a richer taste than standard skim or 1% - more like 2%. Plus is pasteurized twice and blended with evaporated skim milk. In-store advertising began yesterday. It was created by the Leo Burnett Company of Toronto. Beatrice Plus packaging was designed by The Watt Group of Toronto. Ault Foods of Toronto launched a premium milk called PurFiltre early last year. Neilson Dairy of Toronto followed with TruFiltre milk last November.
