Teletoon, Mattel begin Smax promotion

Toronto-based specialty station Teletoon began a joint promotion with toy company Mattel yesterday to promote a line of collectible action figures called Smax. The on-air and online initiative will run until March 27. A 15-second commercial describes the toys and directs viewers to the Teletoon website to enter a contest and play a game called the "Smax Squeeze." Players who reach a certain score will receive an extra contest entry. Fifty prizes will be distributed, including Smax toys, T-shirts and Teletoon merchandise.
