Zoum, Armada merge operations

Two Montreal advertising agencies, Zoum and Armada, have merged to form a new company called Zoum Armada. Zoum president Élisabeth Deschênes will be the president and CEO of the firm. Armada owner Jacques Chalifour will be the agency's chairman. According to the company, the merger will improve Zoum Armada's ability to compete and consolidate services to benefit its clients. "In today's economy, there's an enormous pressure on our marketing and advertising budgets," said Deschênes. "To make the most of the market realities and ensure that our two companies face the future with strength, we have combined our skills to solidify our assets and improve our offer." Its services will include advertising, promotion, public relations, events, relational marketing, media services, and design. Zoum Armada will employ 36 people and have revenues of $4 million. The agency will begin doing business later this month.
