La Presse debuts Sunday section for young readers
By Adnews Staff
Montreal newspaper La Presse launched a new subsection called "Oups" on Jan. 16. The section, aimed at eight-to-14 year-olds, will be published each Sunday as part of the regular "A" section. The section will carry articles and columns on subjects of interest to pre-teens and young teenagers, including movies, music and video games. "We're very enthusiastic about the possibilities of a new subsection aimed specifically at youngsters," said Jean Durocher, vice-president of sales and marketing, at La Presse. "Our advertisers will be able to take advantage of a unique and very special access to a group of readers whose presence in the world of consumption is increasingly more important." The section has also been given an area of the Cyberpresse website at <http://www.cyberpresse.ca/oups> which will be updated daily.
