Sponsorship Roundup

Rogers Wireless has signed on to sponsor a national concert tour by rock band Sum 41. The tour, called "Go Chuck Yourself," will visit 19 Canadian venues. It began on Friday in Montreal. In November Rogers Wireless conducted a one-day mobile concert by the group Three Days Grace to promote the company's MuchMusic Edition cellphone package. The company also arranged a national concert series by Simple Plan for Rogers Wireless customers in October. The company was also the presenting sponsor of a Canadian Nickelback tour last January. In related news, Laurentian Bank has signed a deal to become the presenting sponsor of the 37th Montreal International Auto Show. The event will run from Jan. 14 to 23. According to the bank, the sponsorship is one of several initiatives intended to strengthen its involvement in the communities where it is present.
