Pfizer begins first Nicorette sampling program
By Adnews Staff
Pfizer Consumer Healthcare of Toronto is conducting a sampling program in Toronto and Calgary to promote its smoking cessation aid Nicorette Ice Mint Coated Gum. According to the company, this is the first time sampling has been used to promote the Nicorette brand in Canada. Previous efforts consisted of print, radio and television advertising. For the next four weeks, groups of promotional workers in Toronto and Calgary will encourage pedestrians to sample the gum and contribute to the Lung Association. "For the past 25 years, we have relied on more traditional marketing initiatives to help smokers quit," said Nicolas Pépin, tobacco dependence category manager at Pfizer Canada. "We hope that through direct contact with smokers, we can help free them from tobacco dependence." Marketing for Nicorette is handled by Sky/Draft. The sampling program is being managed by Newad.
