Maclean's editor to depart in February

The editor of Maclean's, Anthony Wilson-Smith, will depart the magazine at the end of February. According to Wilson-Smith, he has resigned the position a year in advance of his expectation due to the departure in November of former publisher Paul Jones. Wilson-Smith, who joined the magazine in 1983, has been editor since early 2001. He has also been the publication's Quebec editor, Ottawa editor, Moscow bureau chief, national affairs columnist and director of online services. According to Marc Blondeau, senior vice-president of Rogers Consumer Publishing, the company is assessing candidates for the positions of both editor and publisher.
