Ottawa-based public relations agency Thornley Fallis Communications has won a standing offer from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Research and Technology Initiative of Defence Research and Development Canada. The five-year, interdepartmental program began in May 2001 as part of the Government of Canada's efforts to improve counter-terrorism security. The program seeks to prepare responses to a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear attack in Canada. The offer is for the provision of media relations until March 2007. Thornley Fallis qualified for the offer through a competitive tender. According to the agency, one other unidentified firm also received an offer. "We've worked with CRTI before and provided them with great service and results on an assignment that involved media relations, writing and event management services," said account director Keelan Green. "This experience and our performance helped us qualify for this standing offer." In the past eight months, Thornley Fallis has also received standing offers from Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada and the Privy Council Office.
