MOOD DISORDERS ASSOCIATION RELEASES MULTILINGUAL PSA

The Mood Disorders Association of Ontario is airing a new public service announcement on Rogers Omni Television in Toronto called "Our Sisters' Place." The 30-second ad, created by Omni, has been produced in eight languages: Cantonese, English, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Tamil. Its aim is to increase awareness of "Our Sisters' Place," which is a support resource for women experiencing postpartum depression. "Since women of different ethnocultural backgrounds are equally affected by postpartum depression, yet statistically receive the least amount of help, we wanted a multilingual PSA campaign that would speak to a diversity of language audiences with the message that 'Our Sisters' Place' is here for them," said Karen Liberman, executive director of the association. The Mood Disorders Association of Ontario is a non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life of people with a mood disorder. Omni is owned by Rogers Communications.
