TORONTO BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION HIRES POINTMAN
By Adnews Staff
The Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas has appointed Pointman Public Relations of Toronto its public relations agency of record. The association is an umbrella organization for the 48 business improvement area in that city. It works to convey the concerns of street-level Toronto businesses to various government bodies. "While we are well known by our members and Toronto City Hall, TABIA is relatively unknown to the media and general public," said John Wakulat, president of the organization. "Its time to tell our story and the stories of our member businesses." The group cited Pointman's work for the Forest Hill Village Business Improvement Area as the deciding factor in the assignment. There was no competition. This is the first time the association has hired a public relations agency. Pointman will work to establish relationships with Toronto-area media outlets and publicize the association's main issues and initiatives, particularly its support for a small business class tax for the City of Toronto.
