NEW CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER AT NORTEL

Clent Richardson will become the new chief marketing officer of Nortel Networks on Oct. 1. According to the Toronto-based telecommunications firm, the appointment is part of its commitment to "elevate its corporate marketing function to drive overall marketing strategy and accelerate revenue growth." Richardson will lead a new marketing organization at the company that will be responsible for brand development, the firm's on-line presence, advertising, public relations, sponsorships, promotions, community relations, employee communications and events. He will also join the Nortel global executive management strategy group. Richardson has been at Nortel for six months as leader of enterprise global marketing. Previously he was chief sales and marketing officer at T-Mobile. Prior to that, he was vice-president of worldwide developer relations and solutions marketing at Apple Computer.
