PETRO-CANADA PROMOTES CREDIT CARD

Petro-Canada and Citi Cards Canada are promoting a new credit card called the Citi Petro-Points MasterCard. Users will receive a two-cents per litre discount on gasoline and diesel fuel at Petro-Canada gas stations. Users will also receive Petro-Points with purchases. The national launch of the card is being promoted with newspaper advertising in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and London, ON. National radio advertising and in-store materials are also in use. A television campaign will break in mid-October. The creative focuses on the discount, according to Marlene Thompson, chief marketing officer of Citi Cards Canada. Cossette Communication-Marketing was the lead agency on the campaign, with support from Wunderman.
