KODAK READIES MISSED MOMENTS CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based Kodak Canada is preparing a campaign to promote the Ultra Compact one-time-use camera. The national radio and print campaign will run from September to the end of the year. The creative encourages customers to carry a camera to avoid missing potential photographs. "The campaign makes the point that Kodak's one-time-use camera is small enough to fit in a pocket or purse and takes high quality photographs," said Paul Dillion, director of marketing communications at Kodak Canada. In the radio ads, which run under the introduction "Missed Moments Theatre," adults attempt to recreate moments from their youth which were not photographed. In one, a man describes his first soccer goal. In another, two people enact a childhood trip to the beach. The print ads show picture frames containing text descriptions rather than photographs. The campaign will consist of four ads in English and four in French, created by Ogilvy & Mather. Media planning and buying are being handled by MindShare Canada.
