VANCITY OPENS GROCERY CREDIT UNION

VanCity opened its first grocery store branch this week. The Vancouver credit union chain has started offering its services in a Save-On-Foods supermarket. The credit union plans to open more such outlets if the opportunity arises but doesn't have any immediate plans, the new branch's general manager, Pat Shellard, told Adnews this week. Point-of-purchase materials have been put up in the branch and in the supermarket, things such as posters, fridge magnets, handouts and grocery cart ads. These were created by Grey Advertising (Vancouver). The new branch is open seven days a week, the same hours as the Save-On-Foods store. The branch is located next to two other retail operations inside the grocery store, McDonald's and Tim Hortons.
