TORONTO STAR BEGINS AD BUYER CONTEST

The Toronto Star has begun a six-week online contest for advertising media buyers called "Ad Buyer Goes Wild." Approximately 3,000 Toronto-are media buyers will be invited to enter draws for three grand prizes and six weekly prizes. Prospective entrants received a postcard which directed them to a Web site with a contest entry form. Toronto-area media buyers can also enter the contest at <http://www.goeswild.com>. The promotion, developed by Toronto-based N5R, will run until Aug. 17. The three grand prizes are a Vespa scooter, a $5,000 AmEx gift certificate and a Sony plasma TV. The weekly prizes are six $1,000 AmEx gift certificates. Ad buyers who refer other ad buyers or current or potential advertisers will receive extra entries if their referrals enter the contest.
