LEAFS COACH QUINN JOINS HEART DISEASE PROGRAM

Toronto Maple Leafs and World Cup Team Canada coach Pat Quinn has joined the "Making the Connection" program operated by the Canadian Lipid Nurse Network, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Diabète Quebec and Pfizer Canada. The program works to raise awareness of the risks of high cholesterol, heart disease and stroke. Quinn, along with sportscaster Rod Black, Olympic gold medallist Gaétan Boucher and golfer Sandra Post, will seek to educate Canadians about the dangers of high cholesterol by telling their own stories at public appearances and events. Black, Boucher and Post all joined the program in 2002. The program has a Web site at <http://www.makingtheconnection.ca> and a toll-free line. Its public relations are handled by Edelman of Toronto.
