AWARD SHOW ROUND UP

Calgary-based Highwood Communications received 14 awards at the 2004 Ad Rodeo Anvil Awards last week, including Best of Show for a Husky & Energy campaign called "Cold Sucks." Other winners included Trigger Communications, which received seven awards, Ogilvy & Mather, which won three awards, and MacLaren McCann, which also won three awards. Arlene Dickinson, president of Venture Communications, received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to the Calgary advertising community and the creation of a successful agency.
Toronto-based digital agency henderson bas (formerly ninedots) has been named "Best Canadian Studio" at the 2004 Flash in the Can Festival, based on the agency's work in the past year for Nike, Molson, Levi's and Michelina's.
