The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario is running an awareness campaign for Oral Health Month, which is April. The effort is an attempt to educate consumers about the importance of good oral hygiene and the value of a dental hygienist. The print ads in community newspapers cover issues such as gum disease and the care of infant teeth. A public relations campaign is also promoting the value of effective oral hygiene. Advertising and public relations for the college are handled by McLellan Group of Toronto. In related news, Colgate-Palmolive Canada and the Canadian Dental Association have begun a joint Oral Health Month out-of-home campaign in Toronto's Bloor and Yonge subway station and Montreal's Berri-Uqam. The advertising, created by Young & Rubicam and Viacom Outdoor, began earlier this week. The creative consists of various smiles and the tagline, "Oral Health, Good for Life."
