TIM HORTONS TO BUY 48 BESS EATON RESTAURANTS

Tim Hortons has reached a conditional agreement to acquire the assets of 48 Bess Eaton coffee and donut restaurants in the U.S. The Canadian coffee and baked goods chain, a subsidiary of Wendy's International, will buy the restaurants from Bess Eaton Donut Flour and Louis Gencarelli. No financial details are known. Bess Eaton has filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. This acquisition is subject to the Bankruptcy Court proceedings along with other closing conditions. Tim Hortons has 2,343 Canadian stores and 184 locations in the U.S.
