BAYER BEGINS CARDIOVASCULAR CAMPAIGN

Bayer HealthCare held a cardiovascular disease education campaign in four cities yesterday. Called "Avoid the Heartache," the campaign featured a bus touring Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary. On each bus was a doctor and a patient with cardiovascular disease. The doctor shared medical information with passerby while the patient, a 67-year-old man who suffered a heart attack seven years ago, shared his own first-hand information. A risk assessment checklist designed to help people identify risk factors was also distributed. The "Avoid the Heartache" tour was organized by National PharmaCom.
