WORKOPOLIS HIRES DUE NORTH

Online job site Workopolis.com has retained Due North Communications of Toronto to handle its creative advertising. Due North was one of six agencies Toronto-based Workopolis met with and one of three shortlisted for the account, said Susan Hayes, director of marketing and communications, Workopolis.com. The process of searching for a new agency began late last year, Hayes said. Until then the job site had worked with one company of Toronto. One company (formerly Ranscombe & Co.) had held the Workopolis account since the site launched in 1999. Hayes said the decision to take the brand in a new direction led to the client and agency mutually agreeing to part ways. Due North's first project will be a new campaign launching later this year. In Quebec, creative advertising for Workopolis will continue to be handled by Diesel of Montreal. Media planning and buying for the site is done by Round Table of Toronto and public relations are handled by Environics Communications, also of Toronto.
